My Small Group – a Place to Be Me

My Small Group – a Place to Be Me

BIG Idea: One key ingredient that is conspicuously needed when we are part of a small group is authentic fellowship— "koinonia" (Greek word). We are not talking about social events intended simply for our entertainment. Instead, we am speaking about the type of relationships that we have with one another where we find ourselves giving sacrificially to one another. It is this kind of fellowship, we believe, that is only possible when we are connected with others through involvement in and commitment to each other through a small group. What we should expect from our Friends Group? I can expect from my small group… love and acceptance (Eph. 3:17-19), honesty and humility (Eph. 4:14-16, 25), concern and restoration (Gal. 6:1-2), confession and forgiveness (Jam. 5:16), encouragement and availability (Heb. 10:24-25), informality and flexibility (Heb. 13:1-2)

Scripture References: Acts 2:42-47
