I Can’t Believe It!
Encounters with Jesus: 40 Days Between Resurrection and Ascension (part 3) | Thomas, one of the original 12 disciples of Jesus of Nazareth, never lacked courage, though he was a natural pessimist. There can never be any doubt that he loved Jesus. He loved him enough to be willing to go to Jerusalem and die with Him when the other disciples were hesitant and afraid. What he had expected had happened, and when it came, for all that he had expected it, he was broken-hearted, so broken-hearted that he could not meet the eyes of the men, but must be alone with his grief. When the boys excitedly exclaimed, “Jesus really is alive! He was with us!”, he said, “I can’t believe it!”
